Apple's iOS 17 to introduce Live Activities for Maps app on Lock Screen
Apple is set to release iOS 17, and according to popular leaker @analyst941, a new feature called Live Activities for Apple Maps is in the works. This feature will display turn-by-turn navigation directly on the lock screen, making it easier for users to navigate without having to unlock their devices.
The Live Activities feature is an expansion of the feature that was released with iOS 16, which displays an app's most current data on the lock screen and in Dynamic Island. This new feature will allow users to move the map around and experiment with multiple ways of resizing it, including adding a graphic button or resizing with a long press or single tap.
Other rumored features that will be released with iOS 17 include revamped versions of the Wallpapers, Apple Health, and Apple Wallet apps. However, the long-awaited app sideloading capability may be limited to Europe only, according to recent reports.
Apple will unveil all the features and changes during its WWDC 2023 keynote next month, so we can expect more information on this exciting new feature and what else is in store for the next iOS update. Live Activities for the Maps app will undoubtedly make navigating easier, and we can't wait to see what other surprises Apple has in store for its users.
