Spotify's promises of HomePod official support remain unfulfilled. How much longer do we have to wait?

Despite Apple opening up its HomePod and HomePod mini speakers to third-party music streaming services last year, Spotify has yet to introduce native support for the devices. As a result, users cannot control Spotify with Siri on HomePod. While a post on Spotify's community website has garnered over 5,800 votes advocating for native HomePod support, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman noted that Spotify claimed there hasn't been a "significant volume" of complaints. Spotify has previously accused Apple of anticompetitive behavior in a 2019 EU complaint that included Apple preventing Spotify from natively supporting the HomePod. Meanwhile, Spotify has promised to update its iPhone and iPad app with AirPlay 2 support, but it has not done so yet.
