The browser extension is ideal for low-end devices that can't run a full VPN app or devices where you don't have admin rights to install the VPN app. It's compatible with Chromium-based and Firefox-based browsers, allowing users to connect to different VPN servers in various browsers, and each browser can connect to a different VPN server.

The extension also offers advanced features like Secure Core, which enhances security and privacy by routing the VPN connection through a privacy-friendly country before connecting to the internet through a second VPN server. Auto-connect is another feature that automatically connects your browsing sessions to Proton VPN to ensure your online activities are always protected. Split tunneling allows users to exclude specific websites from their VPN connection, allowing them to connect to a VPN server in one country while accessing a local streaming service in another tab.
