Microsoft launches Phone Link for iOS, connecting Windows 11 PCs and iPhones
Microsoft has recently announced the launch of Phone Link for iPhone, an app that enables Windows 11 customers to connect their iPhone to their PC. The feature was previously only available for Android users, but now users in 85 markets can use Phone Link in 39 languages on their iOS devices. Once enabled, the feature allows users to access basic iOS support for calls, messages, and contacts.
One of the most exciting features of Phone Link for iOS is iCloud integration with Photos. With this feature, iPhone users can easily access their photos on their Windows 11 PC, removing the need for manual transfer of files. The feature requires an iPhone with iOS 14 or higher, a Windows 11 device, Bluetooth connection, and the latest version of the Phone Link app.
While the messaging feature is limited by iOS, with no image or video sharing or group messaging supported, Microsoft has taken a conservative approach to launching this update. Windows Insiders were asked for feedback during the preview phase to ensure a high-quality experience for users. To enable the feature, users can simply search for "Phone Link" in the Windows taskbar and follow the guided step-by-step installation process. Microsoft remains committed to expanding its support for Phone Link and connecting customers to what matters most, regardless of the phone they choose.
