Niantic's Pokémon GO faces backlash over price increase of remote raid passes
Pokémon GO has announced that it will increase the price of remote raid passes, a feature that allows players to participate in raid battles from afar. The cost of one pass will nearly double to 195 coins, while three passes will cost 525 coins, and players will be limited to participating in only five raids per day. The Pokémon GO team said the change is necessary for the long-term health of the game, and it is a step toward preserving and improving the unique experience of playing the game. Remote raid passes were introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic to enable people to participate in raid battles from home and to generate income for parent company Niantic.
