Zorin OS 17 unveiled with faster performance, universal search, and Spatial Desktop

The Zorin team has unveiled Zorin OS 17, just a few weeks after the beta version's introduction. The new release is packed with a variety of enhancements and novel features.

Zorin OS 17 promises smoother, faster performance, and introduces a universal search function. Users can now search for files, calendar appointments, contacts, apps from the Software store, world clocks, and even use the menu search as a calculator.

One of the standout features in this release is the Spatial Desktop. This innovative feature aims to elevate multitasking by providing better contextual awareness of desktop activities, adding a fun element to the computing experience.

In addition, Zorin OS 17 boasts an improved multitasking interface, advanced window tiling, a new Quick Settings menu, adjustable power modes, and a revamped weather app. It also offers a new screenshot and screen recording experience, as well as a refreshed Software store.

The paid version, Zorin OS Pro, also presents two new desktop layouts in Zorin OS 17: a layout reminiscent of ChromeOS and another similar to GNOME 2. These additions provide users with more customization options to suit their preferences.
