Call of Duty titles now available on GeForce Now following Microsoft's acquisition of ABK
The Call of Duty franchise, including Modern Warfare 3, Modern Warfare 2, and Warzone, has been integrated into NVIDIA GeForce NOW, marking the first inclusion of Activision games on the streaming service since Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard. This development is due to Microsoft's regulatory concessions during the acquisition, which allowed third-party cloud services to stream Xbox-owned games.
Activision Blizzard games were previously available on GeForce Now in 2020 but were later removed, so this marks the return of Activision games to the platform. Post-acquisition, Microsoft has been merging its gaming offerings with GeForce Now, beginning with Gears 5 and extending to PC Game Pass titles and Microsoft Store purchases.
The integration of Warzone into GeForce Now allows gamers to play the battle royale game on mobile devices, though free users are limited to one hour of gameplay per session. Modern Warfare 2 and 3 are now on GeForce Now for users that own the games on Steam, as opposed to Xbox Game Pass or Playstation Plus, in Nvidia's service merely paying the streaming subscription is not enough; users must possess a game purchase license to play.
