WhatsApp releases a revamped native Mac app in the App Store
Back in August, WhatsApp rolled out a new Mac app with a significant revamp from its predecessor, but for some reason, until now, it was essentially a web app in a window. Fortunately, the new iteration of the messaging platform has been recently launched in the Mac App Store as a new native macOS application, promising a more integrated user experience. New features introduced include group video and audio calls, enhancing the app's functionality.
WhatsApp confirmed the app's global availability, hinting at its widespread accessibility. The app reportedly functions smoothly, particularly on the M1 Max MacBook Pro, without the need for additional software downloads.
WhatsApp is also testing an iPad version of the app, extending its compatibility to Apple's tablet devices. Let's hope that Instagram will be the next Meta product to offer official iPad support, which is strangely lacking even after all these years.
