WhatsApp is developing an 'alternate profile' feature for enhanced work profile privacy

WhatsApp is working on an "Alternate Profile" feature, allowing users to establish a secondary profile picture and name. This feature is designed to conceal users' primary profile details from selected individuals and share different information, assisting in maintaining a professional image by separating personal and professional profiles.

The feature will further enhance the existing privacy controls, which include four visibility options for profile pictures, and will be located under the privacy settings for the profile picture.

The Alternate Profile feature is not yet available for beta testers as it remains in development. This feature is an extension of WhatsApp's recent account switching feature, enabling the management of multiple WhatsApp accounts on a single smartphone, eliminating the need for app cloning or a second smartphone.
