Waze introduces crash history alerts to enhance road safety thanks to historical data
Waze has introduced a new safety feature, crash history alerts, designed to inform users about roads prone to accidents along their routes. The feature utilizes artificial intelligence and user reports from the Waze community to collate historical crash data and key route information like typical traffic levels, type of road (highway or local), elevation, and more.
When a user's route includes a crash-prone road, Waze will display an alert before the user approaches that particular section. However, to minimize distractions, Waze has set a limit to the number of alerts a driver will see and will not display them on roads that users frequently travel. This new feature is part of Waze's ongoing efforts to enhance user safety and navigation experience.
