Twitch is discontinuing its support for the Nintendo Switch app due to user criticisms

Twitch has decided to stop supporting its Nintendo Switch app, according to a recent update on its support page. The app will be unavailable on the Nintendo eShop from November 6th, and existing users will lose access on January 31st, 2024.

The Twitch app, launched on Nintendo Switch in late 2021, faced criticism from users due to several restrictions. The app doesn't support viewing of stream chats, forcing users to use another device for interaction or messaging. Moreover, it doesn't allow subscriptions to favorite content creators, hindering users from showing their support. The app also lacks the feature to broadcast user gameplay, a key aspect of the Twitch experience.
