LibreOffice 7.6.3 brings over 110 bugs fixed, improved stability, and Android Viewer app

The Document Foundation has released LibreOffice 7.6.3, the third update in the LibreOffice 7.6 series. This new version focuses on improving the software's stability, reliability, and security. It addresses over 110 bugs, addressing both functional and security issues, making it a recommended update for those currently using LibreOffice 7.6.

LibreOffice 7.6.3 can be downloaded directly from the official website for users of GNU/Linux distributions, with binaries available for DEB or RPM-based systems. The source tarball is also accessible for system integrators and users who prefer to compile from sources. Those who installed LibreOffice 7.6 from their GNU/Linux distribution's software repositories will need to wait for the update to be included in their distribution's stable repositories.

The LibreOffice 7.6 series, first launched on August 21, 2023, introduced features like zoom gestures on touchpads, document themes, and improved font handling for various scripts. The Document Foundation will support this series until June 12, 2024, with the next update, LibreOffice 7.6.4, expected in January 2024. This series is the "Community" edition, supported by volunteers, while the Foundation recommends the LibreOffice Enterprise applications for business use. The Foundation has also released the LibreOffice Viewer app for Android, allowing users to view documents in both the standard ODF and proprietary MS Office formats.
