Twitter launches two new subscription plans: Basic & Premium+, the latter being ad-free
X has launched two new subscription plans. The Premium Plus plan, costing $16 per month (more expensive than the regular Premium plan that was available until now), improves the response function and removes ads from 'For You' and 'Following' feeds. It builds on the features of the standard Premium plan, formerly Twitter Blue, which offers benefits like a blue checkmark, tweet editing, extended posts and video uploads, encrypted direct messages, and more.
X also now offers a cheaper Basic subscription plan at $3 per month. However, this plan lacks features such as the blue checkmark verification and only gives a slight enhancement to replies. It does not reduce advertisements or provide access to X's media studio.
Both Premium Plus and Basic plans are available for purchase online. Under Elon Musk's leadership, X is exploring new ways to generate revenue, including recent tests in New Zealand and the Philippines, where unverified accounts will be required to subscribe to a $1 annual fee to post and interact with other posts.

I like Elon Musk and I think most people will agree that since around 2015/2016 Twitter became a shell of its former self and a very toxic platform to be on HOWEVER since Musk took over his decisions have been very odd to say the least. The name change isn't a big deal I don't think and people will get used to the name change over time (if the platform lasts) but all these other changes haven't made those that stopped using Twitter years ago (like myself) want to rejoin at all. I agree with free speech being allowed and I don't agree with views that aren't my own being censored but for US politics, right vs left being the sole purpose of the platform (as it has been since around 2015/2016) is not appealing to anybody with a brain.
How to scare away almost everyone on there. This is it.
