Sumatra PDF Reader 3.5 unveiled: features dark mode, ARM 64-bit support, and more

The open-source PDF reader for Microsoft Windows, SumatraPDF Reader 3.5, has been unveiled with multiple updates and new features. The first release since June 2022, it is accessible for download on the official website in both installer and portable versions, and now supports ARM 64-bit builds. The 3.5 version brings in dark mode support with two variations, "dark" and "darker," enhancing the reading experience for text-based PDFs. It also incorporates Adobe Reader's syntax for opening files, image orientation based on EXIF metadata, and the ability to open .AVIF images.

The new update allows users to drag PDF documents to an external location to create new windows, along with context menu support for tabs and a mouse shortcut for exiting full screen and presentation modes. It introduces three new display options for annotations managed through a plain text file.

Sumatra PDF Reader 3.5 continues to offer a user-friendly interface while incorporating new features like dark mode support and ARM 64-bit support. You can check the list of changes that come with this new version on the version history page.
