OpenBSD 7.4 released with improved hardware support and security improvements
The OpenBSD team has announced the release of OpenBSD 7.4, six months after the launch of OpenBSD 7.3. This latest version encompasses a broad spectrum of enhancements, from new kernel features to improved hardware support, including Symmetric Multi-Processing (SMP) improvements.
OpenBSD 7.4 also includes updates to the direct rendering manager and graphics drivers, alongside improvements to the Virtual Machine Monitor (VMM) and Virtual Machine Daemon (VMD). Notably, the release also offers a range of security enhancements.
In addition to these, the new release incorporates various userland features, tweaks, and bug fixes. The installer, upgrade, and bootloader have all seen improvements in this update.
