Meta adds 'broadcast channels' to Facebook and Messenger, akin to Instagram and WhatsApp

Meta has introduced a new "broadcast channels" feature, first debuted on Instagram and later expanded to WhatsApp, and it is now available on Facebook and Messenger. This tool, similar to Telegram, facilitates one-way communication, enabling creators and public figures to interact with their followers without posting on their primary page. The content shared can include messages, photos, videos, and voice notes.

Broadcast channels are exclusive to Page administrators and offer a platform for sending messages. Followers can respond by reacting to messages or taking part in polls. The channels are initiated directly from a Facebook page, with followers receiving a notification to join the channel after the first message is sent.

On Messenger, these channels can be found under a "Channels" tab. Followers will receive update notifications, but they also have the option to mute the channel. Those who initially declined to participate can still join the channel through the page's profile. While the feature is available to any page admin with access, it is not universally accessible yet, and a waitlist option exists for those unable to find it.
