Google Bard's new 'Memory' feature personalizes user experience with contextual learning
Google Gemini recently introduced an optional feature called "Memory", enhancing its ability to learn about users and offer personalized responses. While it's not exactly the same, this kinda reminds us a bit of ChatGPT's Custom Instructions. Nevertheless, this feature represents a significant leap from previous versions, where conversations lacked user-specific context and started from scratch each time.
The "Memory" feature, accessible from the left-hand side of the screen, enables Bard to remember details from past interactions to fine-tune its responses, so users can supply the AI with information like dietary preferences, family details, work details, or a preference for brief/funny responses. These inputs can influence future interactions, enabling Google Bard to provide suggestions such as non-allergic recipes, family gifts tailored to personal preferences, information about products near your workplace, or any other detail you can imagine.
This update aligns with Google's ongoing mission to improve its AI infrastructure, a pursuit that kicked off in 2017 with the company's declaration of becoming an "AI-first" entity. Initially launched as an experiment, Bard has now been incorporated into various Google products through Extensions, and it has even been gradually integrated into the company's devices, as in the case of the Pixel Phone.

the saddest part is that a lot of these things that google do would be so amazing and useful if only they were like open source and allowed us to pay with dollars instead of sucking us into their infinite vortex of exploitable personal data
Great..... yet another way for Spygle to collect more user data.
