YouTube's dark theme is being added to its mobile app, with iOS getting it first

Since January, rumors of a dark theme for YouTube's mobile apps that matches its current support on desktop and laptop computers have perpetuated. The wait is now (somewhat) over.

YouTube has announced on Twitter that the video sharing service's iOS application now has support for a dark theme. On top of being easier on the eyes in low light situations, this theme will also help conserve battery life on OLED phone displays, such as the one on the iPhone X. The feature will be toggleable through the app's settings page.

According to this article by our friends at The Next Web, dark theme support will be implemented on Android devices "soon."
