There's a new winner for me:
Folo, which is compatible with Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux, and the web. It has an incredible interface and is free and open source. What more could you want?
Thanks a lot! I would like to use NetNewsWire it is FOSS and looks very beautiful but it is only for macOS, and I only have Linux and Windows. Now I only use
Inoreader visiting as a web app on the desktop with select list of rss feeds.
I have tried many apps (except macos apps) and for me the best are: Inoreader (web + mobile app), Feedbro (web extension), Akregator, NewsFlash (Linux apps). Each app with a good interface, still maintained and free to use (Inoreader is freemium).
I like GUI apps easy to install and use, I don't like to self host an app on your own server (because you need to pay for the server and maintain it) and I don't like CLI apps because you can't navigate things easily.
I use
NetNewsWire on my mobile and
Fluent Reader on my desktop. Good list!
