Paint Shop Pro in my view may perhaps have pretty well reached its features high watermark with version 8. Later versions marginally improved its capabilities and for sure, except for PSP Photo X2, none of these versions justified the price asked by Corel to upgrade.

The overall look and feel of the Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 however is very well done, and recently Corel (finally) lowered its price at a level where it is now excellent value for money, even as an upgrade from an earlier version.

It's a fun application to use and its learning curve is quite manageable if one is willing to take the time to experiment and work with it using many useful and exiting tutorials offered for free on the Web.

I personally haven't cared for PSP since version 8. I've purchased every version since v4, loved the changes through 8, but feel the UI was a lateral step in 9, and downhill from there.
