*and Steam released an update within 24 hours that made it launch and run faster than this.
Their new AI coding policy is just sad ... uninstall it is then.

Gotta give it to them. At least they didn't hide the truth and are honest about their AI use. Don't use Epic Game Store anyway. I mostly use GOG Galaxy, coz Steam's ownership policy sucks.
This is hitting krusty levels of ridiculous. LLMs should be confined to a web app only, not something you could shove it up everywhere in your plataform.
This applies for your USELESS little "summary" bot as well, AlternativeTo.
they want users to login using this launcher? like trusting vibecoded program with account data? ;_; at least more games for Linux sound like a good news!
At first I thought the mention of the launcher being "vibe coded" was just the usual "any AI involvement = Vibe Coded" misuse of the term, but then I checked the official Epic blog and holy moly they actually say it's vibe coded for real.
At least they're honest about it which I'll give props to.

Pass is a great service, my favorite password manager by far, and every update brings new features I enjoy. Proton is slowly becoming a true alternative to Google. Their biggest pain point right now is their Calendar, which is years behind almost every other alternative. The rest of the tools are either usable enough to the average person (Drive, Docs, Meet), or really good (Mail, VPN and Pass).

So basically, they want us to directly train their AI models by getting involved actively into that process and be rewarded with a nicer feed. Yep, I totally see this as a "genuine leap forward", forward a world were you give away your preferences and get meaningless thing in return. TLDR: Don't you ever trust Meta, or any Big Tech, with yoy data, no matter as "harmless" to share it with them may seem.

Good, Wayland is more secure
The king (X11) is dead, long live the king (Wayland). But seriously, Wayland is the future on Linux, as is more secure and private than X11. Here are some resons why dropping X11 is the right thing: https://community.kde.org/Plasma/X11_Known_Significant_Issues

Doesn't think Jitsi Meet is an alternative to Discord
Upvoted a comment on Jitsi Meet as an alternative to DiscordJitsi was made to host short video meetings, not a large persistent community space. The Matrix protocol does implement Jitsi as a method of voice/video communication however.
