Great, easy to manage mail provider. Also linked automatically to a number of useful services in the Yandex Ecosystem. Due to it's Netherlandic HQ - it's underlying the EU regulations regarding User Data - what is nice to have. It also provides super security features, like IMAP access management.

Facebook and Google are bad enough but if you use any Yandex product you are giving all of your information directly to Russia. Not worth it.

What is Yandex Mail?
Yandex.Mail for mobile is an inbox in your pocket which provides secure protection from spam and viruses.
• You can use Mail without an internet connection. For example, if you lose your connection in the metro, you can continue reading your messages and reply to them. When you’re back online, those messages will be automatically sent.
• The app supports using several inboxes at the same time, including Yandex.Mail for domains. You can read all your messages on one device by switching between profiles.
• It’s easy to sort through your messages, even if there are a lot of them. Delete the ones you don’t want with one swipe, while the messages you need can be found through filters (for example, all your e-tickets or social network notifications).
• Messages and chain letters which are grouped together by subject will open up right within the inbox message list.
• Your files from Yandex.Disk can also be attached to your messages, not just documents and photos on your smartphone.
• After receiving a message with an attachment, you’ll immediately know what’s inside. For instance, if it’s an image, then you’ll see a small thumbnail of it appear next to the subject line of the message in the inbox.

Yandex issues data to the Russian authorities, it is not safe. https://meduza.io/feature/2020/10/26/yandeks-vpervye-rasskazal-o-vydache-dannyh-rossiyan-po-zaprosam-vlastey
Facebook and Google are bad enough but if you use any Yandex product you are giving all of your information directly to Russia. Not worth it.
As a service, it does what it needs to. Yandex isn't commonly referred to as a "Russian Google" for no reason. But I think it's still lacking.
Why? Mostly because using third party clients requires you to generate app passwords. That in of itself is not bad, but their implementation is. It seems that after a few days that app password just stops working. That just isn't user friendly.
If you're fine with using the web client this might be for you, but I much prefer the comfort of the one installed on my computer. So having app passwords with expiration dates is a big dealbreaker _
Very Poor Operating System - Stay Away - you'll be very disappointed. They have no customer service and their system is glitchy and does not function, not worth the hassel.
um... you may have posted your review under the wrong service? Yandex is an e-mail service, not an operating system!
It is a scammy service. On your next logon, it will not accept your valid password and require SMS verification also other information like birthday, etc. I have tested it different accounts, and the results were the same. Do not use this unless you want to give your personal information to Russians.
But in fact you can use any fake details to fill up your account, also Yandex don't differentiate users of Tor network and users with regular IP. You may have overlooked a more important detail: Russians will have access to all your mail due to this mail is hosted at Yandex.
it has not yet provided contact import and export...
