What is Words on Repeat?

Words on Repeat is a vocabulary learning application that combines AI-powered content extraction with FSRS spaced repetition. Language learners can paste any URL, upload a PDF, or import YouTube subtitles, and the application extracts a study-ready flashcard deck with translations, example sentences, and grammar notes.

The platform includes 185+ curated public decks across 12 languages (Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Dutch, Polish, English, and Swiss German), organized by CEFR proficiency level from A1 beginner to C2 mastery. Every card features contextual grammar notes such as verb conjugation patterns, preposition usage, and gender rules.

Words on Repeat uses the FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) algorithm to schedule reviews at the point where recall probability drops to approximately 90%, the same scheduling approach adopted by Anki in version 24.11. Seven quiz modes are available on the free tier: flashcard review, multiple choice, typing, listening comprehension, matching, true/false, and speed review.

The application runs as a Progressive Web App, accessible from any browser without an app store download. It installs to the home screen, works offline through service worker caching, and supports push notification reminders for daily study sessions. Additional features include progress analytics, daily study goals, deck sharing, dark mode, and data import from Quizlet and Anki.

Words on Repeat offers a free tier with full access to spaced repetition, all quiz modes, and public decks with no advertisements.
