Wordfast is described as 'Computer-assisted translation tool developed by Wordfast LLC enabling the use of translation memory. There are two different versions of Wordfast product. The original Wordfast product(which was developed in 1999 by Yves Champollion and is now known as Wordfast' and is a Translator in the education & reference category. There are more than 10 alternatives to Wordfast for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Web-based and SaaS apps. The best Wordfast alternative is OmegaT, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Wordfast are SDL TRADOS, Text United, Smartcat and ZingWord.
