What is WinSocks?

WinSocks is a free Windows 10/11 proxy launcher for people who already buy a SOCKS5 or HTTP CONNECT upstream. Paste host:port:user:pass, start the local relay, and launch isolated Chrome or Firefox so DNS stays on the remote side.

It is a client, not a proxy provider. There is no subscription, no license key, and no baked-in IP shop. Chrome uses the local HTTP CONNECT listener on 127.0.0.1:8080. Firefox and SOCKS apps use 127.0.0.1:1080. Stop or uninstall restores leftover Windows and Chrome proxy settings.

Typical comparisons: Proxifier, ProxyCap / NetDetour, and other Windows proxy clients. WinSocks is the free launcher when you already have an upstream and want isolated browsers with remote DNS.
