Winky

Winky unlocks the GNOME lock screen with a glance at the infrared camera, like Windows Hello. Optionally, confirm sudo, administrator dialogs and KeePassXC with your face plus a ✌ gesture, and see afterwards in a history which commands were approved.

What is Winky?

Winky unlocks the GNOME lock screen with a glance at the infrared camera, like Windows Hello. Optionally, confirm sudo, administrator dialogs and KeePassXC with your face plus a ✌ gesture, and see afterwards in a history which commands were approved. Your password always works as a fallback. No photos are stored, no network access, and a setup assistant guides you without the terminal. Installs as a signed .deb with its own package source for updates. Vibe-coded comfort feature, use at your own risk.
