i've tested quite a few and Webmin seems to have the most extensibility (especially being free). No registration or ads. So long as you're familiar with Linux & server administration, it seems to be relatively straight forward. Even if you're not a pro admin (i'm certainly not), it should allow you to get some of the basics figured out without much effort. i really like Webmin & recommend everyone to at least try it for a while.
