What is Wave AI?

Wave AI is a note-taking service for recording, transcribing, and summarizing meetings, phone calls, lectures, interviews, podcasts, and YouTube videos. Its iPhone and Android apps can record in the background with the screen off. Desktop apps for macOS, Windows, and Linux capture system audio from Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams calls without adding a bot; a Wave bot can also join meetings.

Recordings are transcribed in 76 languages with speaker labels and summaries covering key points, decisions, and action items. AI Chat answers questions about individual recordings or the full recording library and cites relevant sources. Wave supports phone-call recording; imports of audio, video, YouTube links, and podcasts; translation and bilingual transcripts; and exports to PDF, OneNote, and email. It also provides sharing links, Slack and Google Calendar integrations, a developer API, hosted MCP server, and CLI.

Wave states that recordings and transcripts are not used to train AI models. It lists SOC 2 Type 1, GDPR, and HIPAA support with a BAA on Wave Teams.
