What is WatchGoose?
Watchgoose is a hosted heartbeat monitor for cron jobs, backups, queues, scripts, and other recurring background tasks. Add an HTTP request to a job, or send a ping by email. If an expected success ping does not arrive on time, a job reports failure, or a started job exceeds its grace period, Watchgoose sends an alert.
Checks support simple intervals, cron expressions, and systemd OnCalendar schedules with time zones and configurable grace periods. Alert integrations include email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, webhooks, SMS, phone calls, Telegram, Discord, Pushover, PagerDuty, and Opsgenie. No monitoring agent is required.
Watchgoose also provides unlimited projects, retained ping history with durations and exit codes, status badges, JSON endpoints, dark mode, two-factor authentication, and project-scoped REST API keys. Paid plans add team access with read-only and read-write roles. The free plan includes 10 checks and requires no credit card.
Watchgoose supports the Open Source ecosystem by donating 5% of its profit to Open Source projects. Qualifying Open Source projects and nonprofits may also receive a paid plan free, matched to their needs.
The service is Europe hosted, operated & owned.
