What is WalletFood?
WalletFood is a mobile app that fights household food waste by starting from something you already have: the receipt.
Instead of typing in every item by hand — the reason most pantry apps get abandoned after three days — you photograph your grocery receipt. AI reads it, recognises the food items and logs them with their expiry dates. You can review and correct anything before saving.
From there, WalletFood notifies you before something is about to go bad, and suggests recipes built around the ingredients that need using up first. Your fridge and your pantry are tracked separately, and a statistics section shows how much food you've saved and how much money that's worth.
Privacy is handled simply: receipt photos are used for the analysis and are not kept on the server — only the items you choose to save. You can lock the app with Face ID or a fingerprint, and delete your account and its data from the app menu.
WalletFood is free to download, with a limited number of receipt scans per month. Paid Plus and Premium tiers raise that limit and unlock AI recipes and advanced statistics. Available on iOS and Android in 8 languages.
WalletFood is not a food delivery service and not a calorie tracker — it deals with the food you've already bought, so it doesn't end up in the bin.
