Video Comparer has unique duplicate detection features that you won't find in any other product. Only Video Comparer is able to detect quickly duplicate videos with image transformations (included scaled, cropped, rotated, …) and time shifted (included division into multiple clips).
The comparison powered by an robust “video fingerprint” technology considers only the content of videos, not the file attributes (name, size, …).

Free version is basically useless, no file names, no previews for found videos.
I don't a reason to use this when you have Video Duplicate Finder...
I found Video Comparer to work amazingly well. I have used it on directories with hundreds of clips, many from the same original video but clipped at different overlapping points and re-encoded at different sizes, and Video Comparer has been able to detect the common files and show the clips in thumbnail strips arranged with recommendations on which to keep, and does so extremely quickly.
I was so impressed after using it a while, I paid for the "Pro" license even though it seems to get only intermittent updates. There was an update in Sept 2019 and when I sent an email to the support address, I got a response within a couple days, so I guess there is still someone monitoring things.
Its running fine on a modern Windows 10 machine.
It is not perfect in that the interface can be a little confusing, especially when grouping large numbers of slightly different clips, and it doesn't always make the best recommendations for which files to keep, but overall after years of trying dozens of products claiming similar functionality, Video Comparer is by far the best.
