What is Verso · Versioned Writing?

Verso shows what changed between two versions of a text. Drop in the previous and the new version and read the differences side by side: words added in green, removed in red, and chapters or paragraphs that changed position marked as moved instead of deleted and rewritten.

It splits long documents into chapters using the document's own headings, so you see how much changed in each one and skip the chapters nobody touched. Formatting changes and the quotes and dashes swapped by autocorrect don't count as differences.

Files are read and compared inside the browser. Nothing is uploaded: the server only handles sign-in and the license. Reads .docx, .odt, .pdf, .txt and .md, in any combination, so you can check a signed PDF against the Word draft or a typeset proof against the manuscript.
