Vehla information
What is Vehla?
Vehla is a native Mac command center built for people who want fewer apps, fewer context switches, and more work done from the keyboard.
Open Vehla with a global hotkey and you get one palette for launching apps, searching files, browsing clipboard history, moving windows, capturing notes, generating QR codes, managing Homebrew packages, running system commands, calling MCP tools, and using AI without jumping into a separate chatbot tab.
Where many launcher apps rely heavily on extension ecosystems, Vehla focuses on shipping common Mac workflows built in. It includes more than 100 native commands and 79 AI actions for rewriting, summarizing, translating, coding, email, clipboard transforms, productivity, and research workflows.
Vehla also supports local-first AI. On Apple Silicon Macs, it can run bundled Gemma 4 models through MLX, import compatible local models, or connect to Ollama and LM Studio. For cloud models, Vehla supports bring-your-own-key providers including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, and OpenRouter. API keys are stored in macOS Keychain.
A major part of Vehla is Recall, a local retrieval feature that can search across enabled sources such as notes, clipboard history, Shelf items, snippets, canvases, Kanban boards, research reports, and selected folders. Retrieval stays local; if you answer with a cloud model, the assembled prompt goes directly to the provider you selected.
Vehla also includes focused Mac surfaces such as Shelf for temporary file parking, BarKeep for menu-bar cleanup, Snap Wheel for radial window layouts, Notes, Canvas, Kanban, Folder Dock, Island/Notch interactions, and Purge for reviewing app leftovers before moving them to Trash.
Vehla is best for Mac users who like tools such as Raycast, Alfred, Rectangle, Maccy, Dropover, Hidden Bar, and Amphetamine, but want more of those workflows in one native app with AI and local model support built in.
