Uptokey is a local-first, OpenAI-compatible AI proxy. Your API keys stay encrypted in your operating system’s secure vault — never on our servers. Use local models or bring your own keys (BYOK) from any major provider. Free for local models and BYOK. Optional Plus plan adds cloud budget. Works in the terminal (npx uptokey), browser, Windows desktop, and VS Code. Compatible with Cline, Continue, Aider, Maestro, Orca, and any OpenAI-compatible client. Open-source core (AGPL-3.0). One local URL. Full control. No middleman holding your keys.
