What is UltraDefrag?
UltraDefrag is powerful and fast defragmentation tool for Windows. There are three interfaces to them: graphical, console and native. The GUI is useful, because it represents your filesystem visually as a color-coded cluster map. The console is another option for those that prefer the command line. It allows you to run UltraDefrag from the task scheduler and scripts. Finally, the native executable will run at boot time in a manner similar to chkdsk. The design of UltraDefrag is very simple. There are no skins and other unnecessary stuff. It is a small and powerful program!
It can defragment any system files including registry hives and paging file. Also one of the main goals of UltraDefrag is doing the job as fast and reliable as possible.

Reliable, comes with a portable version, and inexpensively licensed. Very nice piece of work.
In 2018 the UltraDefrag project has been transferred to Green Gate Systems, LLC.
This software was sold, and is no longer free. There is no reason to buy it as windows already has these features.
Update: in 2021 the software now shows ads for the paid version every single time you click on a button. I can no longer recommend this.
This is not fully true! Here is still open-source version and still updated.
Wasn't wowed by the graphics or the depth of defragmenting.
The installer has an option to turn off/disable "usage tracking".. Why would anyone need usage tracking in a Defragging software.. Downloaded it from sourceforge.
Is an efficient and powerful defragmenter. It also give you a great variety of options to customize defragmentation tasks. But if you are an average user, I recommend you Piriform's Defraggler.
