What is Turn G-code?

Turn G-code is a desktop program for CNC lathe operators who want a ready program for a typical turning job in a couple of minutes, without writing G-code by hand and without a full CAM system.

You choose a cycle, enter the dimensions, feeds and speeds in a simple form, check the tool path in the built-in 2D simulator and save a ready-to-run program. It is made for LinuxCNC lathes: small shops, home-built and converted machines, training and hobby lathes.

12 machining cycles:

  • OD turning and facing
  • Threading: external/internal, right/left hand, multi-start, adjustable run-in and run-out
  • Tapered threads (the thread follows the full length of the taper)
  • Taper turning (external/internal)
  • Sphere, including concave profiles such as pulley grooves
  • Grooving, drilling, boring and parting off
  • Chamfer/radius (external/internal, front/back)
  • Archimedean spiral (face spiral groove or thread)

Output you can adjust to your control and habits:

  • G7/G8 (diameter or radius mode) with one switch for all cycles
  • G32 or G33 threading syntax with a selectable pitch address (I, K or F)
  • Coolant M-codes, tool numbers, comments and M30 can be turned on or off
  • Millimeters and inches
  • English and Russian interface

Runs on Linux (on the machine's own PC) and on Windows 7 SP1 or later, so programs can also be prepared in the office. 15-day free trial with no key and full functionality, then a paid subscription from $25 per month.
