"Free" version asks for your SSN/address/employment number/birthdays/etc, as if it was going to print forms for you. No, it isn't. Unless you buy a subscription. I'm totally pro developers getting paid for their good work, but if you're not planning to buy - THEY JUST RIP OFF YOUR SENSITIVE INFORMATION. "Free" version does some fine analysis but doesn't give you anything you can go with, but two numbers it deduced somehow. You have to pay to do anything with it.Danilo_Venom edited Intuit TurboTax

Although usability is okay, TurboTax is plagued with fake loading screens, numerous upgrade offers you can't undo, and too many menus and stages of tax filing. Plus, Intuit has a bad history of lobbying and selling data. There are plenty of easier to use options that are cheaper and from a better company.
Intuit always ruins everything they touch. TurboTax had me waiting forever to file. I finally found out the form they were stating was holding me up had already been signed off on this year and I could file. Jackson Hewitt, a tax software not even on my list until someone recommended it, had me done within an hour and only $25 for all filing federal and state and that is for a semi-complicated return. TurboTax wanted well over $100 and not to mention the amount of time wasted. Used TurboTax for over decade and got pulled away couple years ago. Thought I might come back but it has only become worse. Never ever again waste a second on them and at this point, anything with the Intuit name on it I have come to terms with letting go.
