"Free" version asks for your SSN/address/employment number/birthdays/etc, as if it was going to print forms for you. No, it isn't. Unless you buy a subscription.
I'm totally pro developers getting paid for their good work, but if you're not planning to buy - THEY JUST RIP OFF YOUR SENSITIVE INFORMATION.
"Free" version does some fine analysis but doesn't give you anything you can go with, but two numbers it deduced somehow. You have to pay to do anything with it.
Although usability is okay, TurboTax is plagued with fake loading screens, numerous upgrade offers you can't undo, and too many menus and stages of tax filing. Plus, Intuit has a bad history of lobbying and selling data. There are plenty of easier to use options that are cheaper and from a better company.
