Trogster

Trogster is a proof-of-work tool for small businesses with staff working out in the field, such as cleaning, security, pest control, landscaping, construction, maintenance and inspection teams.

The account owner sets up tasks in a web dashboard and decides what each one must include: a minimum and maximum number of photos, videos and voice notes, written notes, and required labels (for example "damage found" or "urgent"). Workers use the free Trogster app on Android or iOS to complete the task. The app won't submit the record until those requirements are met.

Every record is stamped with the time and GPS location and tied to the phone that captured it. Media is captured inside the app's own camera and recorder rather than picked from the phone's gallery. If there's no signal, records are stored on the phone and sent once a connection is available. Workers don't need accounts or passwords. A phone is linked once by typing in a 9-digit code generated in the dashboard. Records appear in the dashboard, where they can be filtered by device, task, label, date range and media type, or searched by their notes. Typical uses are settling customer disputes ("nobody came", "that damage was already there"), checking work across several sites without driving out, and keeping a record of every visit for clients.

Pricing: the Basic plan is $15 per month and includes 3 device seats, with additional devices at $5 each per month. Viewing the dashboard is free and doesn't use a seat. There is a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, and a live demo dashboard with sample data that needs no sign-up.
