TrID Alternatives

    TrID is described as 'Allows to detect file type by recognition of binary signatures'. There are six alternatives to TrID for Windows, Linux, Mac, the Web and BSD. The best alternative is file, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like TrID are TrIDNet (Free), Toolsley File Identifier (Free), FileCHK (Free, Open Source) and HexBrowser (Free).
