Comments and Reviews
About 3 years ago, Zecco had the slickest interface of the online trading platforms I've used, and I have yet to find one as good. (These include Scottrade.com, OptionsHouse.com, Etrade.com, OptionMonster.com, and TradeKing.com) It was fully customizable, allowing me to put whatever critical indicators I wanted wherever I wanted them. They didn't consider a trade to be a margin trade unless you exceeded the amount in your account. Also, It had a tendency of executing trades at better prices than my limits.
The trouble was that they went down in the middle of the day on a triple witching Friday, which jammed their phones, and caused me to lose several thousand dollars. I've been unwilling to do business with them again, but I miss their tools enough that I might switch back at some point in the near future.
Since then, they've merged with TradeKing, but I haven't used the new combined product.
Their pricing is extremely competitive, at roughly $5/trade + 65 cents per option contract.
The best pricing I've seen was OptionsHouse which was at 15 cents per option contract and a minimum of $10 of fees, but they've merged with OptionMonster and since upped the price to 50 cents/contract.
