TOMS (Turn Off Mouse Screen) is a Windows tray utility built around one idea: one gesture, one result.
Press Ctrl + Alt + D, or triple right-click, and the screen under the mouse pointer goes black while the other screens keep working. Press it again, or click the black screen, and it comes back. Nothing is powered off and the session keeps running, so windows stay where they are. Useful for watching a movie on one screen without the glare of the other, for focused work, or for turning a spare screen into a desk clock (Ctrl + Alt + T shows a clock on the black screen).
Screen control
Ctrl + Alt + D or triple right-click: black out / restore the screen under the mouse
Ctrl + Alt + A: black out / restore all screens
Ctrl + Alt + T: clock on a black screen
Ctrl + Alt + mouse wheel: zoom the screen under the mouse
Capture and paste (the Dragon Paste)
Ctrl + Alt + right-button drag: select an area of the screen and paste it straight into the active application (ChatGPT, Word, File Explorer…). Otherwise the image lands on the Desktop.
In Windows Terminal, PowerShell or cmd, the capture’s file path is typed at the prompt, ready for command-line AI agents such as Claude Code or Codex.
Ctrl + Alt + left-button drag: copy the area to the clipboard only.
Ctrl + Alt + Print Screen: capture the whole screen under the mouse.
Paste a copied image in File Explorer or on the Desktop and get a PNG file.
Power
Ctrl + Alt + C / H / R / Q: sleep, hibernate, restart, shut down
Blacking out a screen does not lock the session: use Win + L when stepping away.
Distributed through the Microsoft Store, with a 7-day free trial.
