Thumbnail me is a free and open source thumbnails generator built on the movie thumbnailer binary.

This project is no longer being developed. The website exists and makes claims of a version 3.5 as "Coming Soon", but it will not be. While this program continues to work for newer Windows releases, such as 7,8, 8.1, it is extremely buggy. Use at your own risk.

I did a little research for finding a way to make screenshot thumbnails of videos I have and I downloaded 3 programs, Thumbnail Me 3.0, Video Thumbnails Maker, and Media Player Classic. Video Thumbnails Maker comes with very limited functionality for free(You have to pay to unlock features) and I couldn't get it to work. With Media Player Classic, you can make a screenshot thumbnail, but you kind of have to go digging in the settings to find that feature. Thumbnail Me 3.0 is free/open source and was easy to use and in the words of the late Steve Job's "It just works".
This project has been dead and discontinued for almost 2 years now. The program continues to 'work' under Windows 7/8 but is buggy and crashes. This is even worse under Windows 10. Your mileage may vary.
The website claims version 3.5 is coming soon. It will not as development has ended.
