What is Avast! Anti-Theft?
Avast! Anti-Theft (formerly Theft Aware by ITAgents) is an Android app that helps recover your lost or stolen smartphone. It enables you to control and find your device in the event of loss or theft.

FEATURES HIGHLIGHTS
? Remote identification: Takes a picture of the thief, Theftie, when he/she tries to unlock the device (can use front or back camera, with face recognition). Also can listen to and record audio. ? Password check: Marks the device as stolen if a wrong locked screen password is entered 8 times. ? Remotely send SMS: Your device will send them for you. ? ...some things can be substituted...but you just can't use alternatives to a security system like theft aware. I really recommend to stick to the original.
If your phone is rooted, or at least the bootloader unlocked, you can install theft aware hardreset proof. this way it still works - even if a thief hardresets the device.
