What is TheBugDojo?
BugDojo is a browser-based training platform where developers fix deliberately broken React components instead of solving abstract algorithm puzzles. Unlike LeetCode, which tests algorithmic problem-solving skills rarely used day-to-day, BugDojo drills the skill developers actually use constantly - reading someone else's code and finding why it's broken.
Each "kata" is a real React bug pattern - stale closures, dependency array mistakes, mutated state, broken memoization - modeled on mistakes that show up in real codebases and real interviews, not artificial gotchas. Alongside kata, BugDojo has a separate "Drills" mode with 400+ multiple-choice questions for faster, lighter React theory practice.
Progress is tracked through Ki (XP), belt ranks (White/Blue/Black), and daily streaks. Guest mode lets you start fixing bugs in seconds with zero signup - no account required to try it. Free to use, with an optional paid tier (monthly, quarterly, or lifetime) that unlocks additional advanced kata and drill content. Best for frontend developers learning React, and anyone prepping for React technical interviews where debugging live code is increasingly tested.
