What is GNOME Text Editor?
GNOME Text Editor is a simple text editor focused on a pleasing default experience.
- Auto Save & Crash Recovery: Text Editor will save your drafts automatically in case you lose power or any other sort of crash. They'll be right there the next time you start-up Text Editor.
- Syntax Highlighting: Text Editor supports more than 150 programming language syntaxes out-of-the-box. You can even create your own language or your own color-scheme!
- Automatic Settings: Text Editor will try to determine the best settings for your document automatically! Got special needs? Just drop-in a .editorconfig file and let Text Editor do the rest! Not enough? Those old-school vim, emacs, and kate mode-lines are also supported.
- Overview Map: Sometimes you need a good overview of what's in a file. Use the integrated overview map to quickly scroll through large documents.
