Teclo plays a mechanical keyboard sound for every key you press, in any app on your Mac. It has 16 synthesized sound packs: nine keyboards (linear, tactile, clicky, buckling spring, silent, rubber dome and a heavy "thock" board) plus rain, marimba, typewriter (with a bell on Return), an old terminal, two arcade packs and a sci-fi zap. Press and release sound different, Space, Return and Delete have their own sounds, and keys are placed left to right in stereo.
It also plays mouse click, scroll and trackpad sounds, and lets you design your own pack over a base pack, record your own keyboard with the microphone, and share packs as .teclo files.
A small keycap pet sits on your screen, sleeps until your first key, cheers up as you type faster and catches fire when you keep the pace. You can use any picture as the pet.
Teclo listens to key events only to play sounds: it hears which key moved, not what you type, keeps no history and needs no account. Every pack can be played in the browser on the website before you download. USD 4.99 once after a 7-day free trial, on up to 3 Macs, macOS 13 or later.
