Takeafile information
What is Takeafile?
Takeafile is a peer-to-peer platform to transfer files of any size at maximum speed in a secure way.
Ease of use is key to Takeafile, thus not the sender nor the recipient have to login or install anything, it works in a traditional browser like Chrome or Firefox. To achieve this, Takeafile uses the WebRTC protocol to create a direct connection between devices. Then, the file is sent using the maximum bandwidth between them. This means that if both users are in the same local network, the transfer speed will be up to 10 times faster than cloud-based solutions.
Moreover, not using the cloud has other advantages such as there is no file-size limitation and the service is completely confidential because the file is directly forwarded from the sender to the recipient, without crossing intermediate servers.
Finally, Takeafile is growing in terms of features. You can find unique functionalities like audio streaming between browsers, image previewing without servers, or "contacts". To use Takeafile, the sender has to drag&drop a file and send the link generated to the recipient to start the transfer. But with contacts, this process gets even easier: drag&drop a file and click on your friend's contact. A desktop notification will appear in his screen. No more link sharing!
