TAIL Sampler

TAIL is a sampler and beat maker built for a touchscreen rather than a desktop interface squeezed onto a small screen. Record anything — your voice, an instrument, a record, a field recording — or drop in an audio file, then trim it on the waveform and drag the markers to where the hit actually starts. Samples spread across 128 pads: 16 drum pads per bank and eight banks from A to H, and switching banks never cuts off a sound that is still playing. The 16-track, 16-step sequencer with swing lets you place kicks, snares, hats and percussion and have a groove going in seconds, while pitch, fine tune, attack and envelope are set per pad. Play the pads with your fingers or trigger them from an external MIDI controller, then bounce a sequence to WAV or export your pads as WAV, MP3, FLAC or OGG with the pitch baked in. Projects save and reopen where you left off, and audio keeps running in the background while you switch apps. It ships with no sound packs on purpose — bring your own samples instead of the loops everyone else is using.
