Tabby is a free group expense splitter that runs in the browser. Nobody has to install an app or create an account, including the person who sets it up.
You create a tab, give it a name and pick a currency (pounds, euros or dollars), and you get a private link straight away. Share the link in your group chat. Each person opens it, picks their name and adds what they paid: the Airbnb, the big food shop, the taxi home. Each expense can be split between everyone or only the people it was for, so the non-drinkers stay off the bar tab and someone who only came for two nights only pays for what they were there for.
Everyone sees the same tab as expenses are added. When it's time to settle up, Tabby works out who owes who and shows the simplest way to pay each other back. You pay by bank transfer and mark it as settled.
Tabby is built for trips, holidays, weekends away, stag and hen dos, festivals, group dinners and other one-off group spending, especially mixed groups where not everyone wants another app. Each tab uses one currency.
It's deliberately simple. There's no receipt scanning, no reminders, and bills are split equally between the people you choose. If you split monthly household bills with the same people and need uneven splits, a full app like Splitwise may suit you better.
Tabby is free, with no paid plan and no ads. Not to be confused with the Tabby "buy now, pay later" service or the Tabby terminal app; this is the group expense splitter at tabby.money.
