What is Sundry Works?

Sundry Works is an art catalogue for working painters, made by one.

Every painting gets a record - picture, medium, size, dates, where it is now and what it sold for - and the catalogue shows at a glance what is still owed to each one. From that single record it makes the things that usually take an afternoon each:

  • A short story about the painting, drafted by Google's Gemini or Anthropic's Claude on your own account. Fiction, in your direction, not a description of you. Change any word, throw it out, or lock it.
  • Printed cards with the title, story and your logo, on torn paper or a frame of your own, sharp enough for any print shop.
  • Numbered certificates of authenticity and back labels, filled in from the record, 8 by 5.5 inches to slip in with the sale.
  • A short vertical reel, close-up to close-up, with the story read in a voice you pick or your own.
  • Eight social captions - Instagram feed and reel, Facebook post and reel, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest and X - all cut from the same story, so they tell the same tale.
  • A page for the painting on your own WordPress site, which changes when the painting does: sold, reframed, retitled.
  • Business cards, a price that comes out the same every time, what a gallery's cut would leave you, contacts and checklists.

Nothing goes out that you have not read. Posts are queued and sent on time by a small service, so you can turn the computer off and go back to the easel.
